A shrub is concentrated fruit syrup made with sugar and vinegar. Shrubs are typically left to steep overnight, but if you want maximum flavor payoff, we recommend leaving it for 48 hours.

Cran-Orange Shrub and Soda


For the shrub

2 cups white wine vinegar 

2 cups sugar

1 ½ cup cranberries

2 oranges, sliced

For mixing 

2 ounces Carn-Orange Shrub

Sparkling water

Orange slice and rosemary to garnish


For the shrub

 1. In a medium saucepan, bring vinegar and sugar to boil over medium heat. Add cranberries and let simmer until cranberries are softened. 

 2. Remove from heat, add orange slices, and set aside until completely cooled.

 3. Transfer to a sterilized jar and refrigerate for 48 hours. 

 4. Strain the syrup and return to the jar. Store in the refrigerator for up to 30 days.
