‘Tis the season to be social! This is the time of year where family get-togethers, office parties, cookie walks, and open houses are dotted allover our calendars. And while all of these social events are fun, they can sometimes be stressful, especially when we’re the hosts! To give us a fresh perspective on hosting holiday parties this year, we turned to lifestyle blogger Scarlett Foltz from Scarlett Social to share with us her best holiday party-planning tips. Take it away, Scarlett!
When November hits you better bet I’m already decorating for Christmas and have 2-3 holiday parties planned. Although I love to cook and entertain . . . let’s be honest, it can be stressful and a lot of work! I’m so happy I found Shipt, my grocery shopping elf-for-hire that makes it stress-free to host a holiday celebration with family and friends.
Basically, Shipt is an app where you can order your groceries and then have a personal shopper go and get them for you. Shipt shoppers are available the entire time they are shopping in case the store is out of something you ordered, you change your mind, or you want to add something to the list.
With Shipt’s holiday shopping categories, hosting has never been easier: I got my holiday essentials delivered so I could focus on making my home party-ready.
Speaking of lists, Shipt recently launched this really cool feature where you make your grocery list and save it so you can easily buy it again another time. This is so perfect during the holiday season because I make the same recipes over and over again. (Roasted chicken, Italian meatballs, mac and cheese, roasted veggies, mashed potatoes . . . and pie!)
So, for my first Holiday party with Shipt I invited a few friends and family members over and had my first holiday party of the season. I ended up making so much food. I had not only an appetizer table, but a dessert table too. I set out the main meal on my kitchen island and had everyone serve themselves.
The theme of the party was white and gold with hints of light blue. Since it was the first rainy day in Austin it was nice to sit outside and listen to the rain.
No dinner party is a true dinner party without a fruit and cheese tray in my book, in addition to red & green M+Ms! Plus, it’s always fun to add some board games to the table for after everyone’s done eating! (Yes, that’s Cards Against Humanity in the background!)
By the end of the dinner party I was ready for a nap.. and so was my pup Winnie! I’m seriously so happy I used Shipt to deliver my groceries, and now I can just reorder the entire holiday list again for my Christmas party!
So go ahead. Light the candles. Take out the glasses. String up some lights.
Don’t just host. Participate. Celebrate. It’s never been easier with Shipt.
Happy Holiday Season, everyone!
