Being a people-first company means investing in our employees’ health and happiness. Meet Lauren C., the Benefits and Compensation Business Partner behind many of our wellness initiatives.
1. First things first, tell us about your role at Shipt.
With a primary focus on benefits and compensation, my time is spent managing and evolving our benefits and wellness programs, leveling roles, and a little in between.
2. What does work/life balance mean to you? How can companies help employees pursue balance?
Time to unplug and focus on self-care, whether it’s taking 30 minutes at work to join meditation sessions, 4-day summer holiday weekends, or employee assistance programs that support emotional and mental wellness. Investing in people to balance life and work is a great way for companies to help.
3. What is your favorite part of your workday?
Any space within my day that allows me to dip into my artistic self and get creative. Campaigns like Mental Health Awareness Month and the Revive & Thrive summer program allow me to offer unconventional and fun approaches to initiatives that are important to the Shipt team.
4. What values do you share with Shipt? How do you live those values, both on and off the job?
Positivity. Being positive can change your overall outlook on every situation. I always try to see the best in everyone and everything life brings my way!
5. Finally: what’s always on your Shipt order?
Baby food, formula, and diapers – but my recent personal favorite is La Colombe Original Oatmilk Lattes. It’s the closest thing I’ve found to an iced vanilla latte, ready to drink right out of the fridge.
