Hey Shipters! We’re back from SOBEWFF!
We’re sore and exhausted but sun-kissed with hearts and bellies full. As a start-up (with a little over a year under our belts), working and attending SOBE Fest as Silver Level Sponsors was a huge deal for our team. And we want to tell you more about it!
Leading up to the event, we made countless pots of coffee, excel sheets, phone calls and snack orders (we may have lived off of Snap Peas and La Croix for a few weeks) in preparation for the festival.
The South Beach Wine and Food festival is hosted by the Food Network and Cooking Channel while presented by Food & Wine. It was a phenomenal opportunity for our company to interact with food-lovers from across the country who share our mission— to appreciate and make time to enjoy the finer things in life.
We had the opportunity to meet Shipt members and shoppers, as well as work along brands that help to cultivate a culture of joy and generosity. As sponsors straight from Shipt’s HQ, we got to experience the communities we serve from the ground-floor, and the stories we heard were incredibly motivational. We met members who sought us out at the festival to let us know how we have simplified their lives and shoppers who told us about how Shipt gave them the income and flexibility to become supermoms and debt-free students.
Not many people know this, but we actually went down to Miami with our Marketing team and City Launch team, because we wanted to represent the family with the very people that are working hard to make the service possible every day.
We had a team at the Goya Grand Tasting Village, providing refreshments for sponsors along with Tervis and serving bites to attendees in line to meet stars like Rachel Ray and Giada De Laurentiis at the Twitter Food tent.
We are very much a lean, hard-working family and team, so to hear Shipt announced as a sponsor, before Chef Masaharu Morimoto (of Iron Chef) graced the main demo stage, was an incredibly humbling moment for our team.
We had another team at the Badia Spices Fun & Fit as a Family event, and there we truly got to interact with families who survive each week’s chaos and to-do lists with Shipt. Surrounded by squawking parrots and swinging monkeys on Jungle Island, we passed out waters and sweets while swapping stories with everyone about wanting more time and more fun in life.
Watching eyes light up at the thought of cutting time at the grocery store out of week was indescribable. The entire festival was such a reminder of why we, the Shipt family, do what we do. To help in creating a world that is simpler, happier and easier with more time for family time, hobbies and rest. To stress less and enjoy more, without compromise.
