Shipt Shoppers’ Favorite Memories from 2018

What a year. In 2018, we found our way from the beaches of California to the mountains of Vermont and everywhere in between. As we grew across the country, we saw new shoppers, new members, new groceries (and so much more) and a whole lot of new memories. To bookmark the end of a great year we turned to our incredible shopper community to learn about the moments that defined their year. As the curtain closes on 2018, we are excited to see what 2019 holds in store and to create more memories like these!

2018 was the year I celebrated my 1000th shop! Not only was it the milestone that made it so memorable, but how I got to celebrate it. My friend and fellow Shipt Shopper Chris knew that I was coming up on my 1000th shop and kept checking in with me on my order number. Eventually, one night around 7:30pm when I was at 999 orders, I got an order from Chris and went to my local Publix to pick up his items. When I arrived, he was there to celebrate my order with the store manager and some cashiers. Chris had ordered a few pieces of cake, so after I completed the shop, we celebrated! Over the last two years as a Shipt Shopper, I have been very lucky to have met incredible mentors and friends like Chris through Shipt.

My favorite memory this year was when I was delivering to one of my regulars and she invited me to her 90th birthday party. Each week when I deliver her groceries, I make sure to leave enough time for us to sit and chat. We often talk about children and traveling and eventually grew close enough that she invited me to celebrate her 90th birthday. I loved seeing so many family and friends surround her and how happy she was to see me. For me, this regular is not just a customer, but a friend, and I’m so thankful that Shipt has enabled me to meet such wonderful people like her!

I like to be a little over the top for the holidays and add a special touch to my deliveries. Right after Thanksgiving, I decorated what I like to call my “ShiptMobile” with lights and an elf hat for all of my holiday deliveries. To make it even more jolly, my family and I made handmade marshmallow dipped candy cane cup hangers with a bag of hot chocolate mix for each customer. For nearly 70 deliveries, I went around acting as one of a Santa’s elves with a merry message and a sweet treat. During those nights, the magic of the holidays felt so real to me and to the families I met.
