Autumn is the season of indulgence, bringing our favorite foods, friends and family members together around the dinner table. And what better way to treat yourself this Fall than with an assortment of mini pie pops! With a full table comes an array of preferences and appetites, so instead of having them choose one, why not give them a taste of all? Packed full of apples, blueberries, and strawberries, everyone gets a bite of their favorite pie this holiday. Even the little ones will love these adorable pies berry much!
Three Traditional Pies on a Popsicle
- 1 tube pre-made pie dough
- Popsicle sticks
- Egg wash
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 brown sugar
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp salt
In a medium-sized pot, combine butter, sugar, lemon juice, ground nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt until mixture is smooth.
Pour two-thirds of the glaze into a separate bowl and add strawberries to the pot.
Let mixture simmer for 5-7 minutes until fruit is soft. Place strawberry filling in a separate bowl.
Add half the remaining glaze into the pot and incorporate blueberries.
Let the mixture simmer for 5-7 minutes until fruit is soft. Place blueberry filling in a separate bowl.
Pour the remaining glaze into the pot and add apples.
Let the mixture simmer for 5-7 minutes until fruit is soft. Place apple filling in a separate bowl.
Roll out pie dough on a baking sheet and cut out 14 even circles with cookie cutter. Remove the excess pie dough.
Place popsicle sticks on half of the circles to create the handle, then top the circles with the strawberry, blueberry and apple fillings.
Top the fruit covered circles with the remaining pie dough circles.
Crimp the edges of each pie pop together with a fork, then cut vents on top with a knife.
Brush each pie pop with egg wash and bake at 350ºF for 20 minutes.
Allow to cool and chow down!
