How to Mix: For medium decorating consistency (borders, flowers): 1. Using electric mixer, beat 6 tablespoons softened butter or margarine and icing mix together, at medium speed. 2. Add milk or water (or 1/4 cup whipping cream) and continue beating until light and fluffy. Keep icing covered with a damp cloth until ready to use. For Thin Spreading Consistency (Writing, Leaves): Add at 1 tablespoon of milk or water to thin. Add additional liquid as needed to reach desired consistency. For Stiff Decorating Consistency (Upright Petals, Ruffles): Add 1 tablespoon of confectioners' sugar. Add additional confectioners' sugar as needed to reach desired consistency. Makes 2 cups icing. How to Store: Refrigerate icing in an airtight container for up to two weeks. Rebeat before using.
