Market District’s dedication to deliciousness dates back to 1931, when their parent company, Giant Eagle, Inc., was founded in Pittsburgh, PA. Giant Eagle serves more than five million customers annually through nearly 420 food retail locations in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland and Indiana. Giant Eagle launched the first Market District store in their hometown of Pittsburgh in 2006. They quickly expanded throughout Western Pennsylvania and Ohio, and in 2015, took their enthusiasm for food further west, opening in Indiana. That’s 13 Market Districts, plus one Market District Express in the outer South Hills of Pittsburgh. Although each store is a bit different, catering to local appetites, most are known for serving up the many pleasures and possibilities of food.
