3, 2, 1….Grocery Delivery Awakens
This week, our team is back in the sunny state of Florida launching in two cities that have a need for speed— both in travel by racecar or rocket ship and in grocery delivery. Where did that bring us, you ask? Well, we spent the week in central Florida launching Shipt on-demand grocery delivery in Space Coast and Daytona, Florida.
Whenever we spend time in a city, we like to do as the locals do and spend time at some spots off of the beaten (race)track. We’ll let you in on some of our favorite spots. Let us know if you spot one of our bright green-shirted Shoppers out and about (bonus points if you find them taking a break from grocery shopping at one of these spots!)
We heard from Daytona natives that the Daytona International Speedway and Oceanwalk Daytona Beach are iconic spots in town, but we also got a recommendation for fantastic lunch fare at The Dancing Avocado. Our Shoppers know how to pick a perfect avocado, but they haven’t encountered any dancing ones…until now. The Dancing Avocado’s menu is farm-fresh and full of eclectic items that are delicious and healthy. Plus, their motto is a message we can get behind – “where herbivore and carnivore can live together in harmony.”
It’s not everywhere you can find a gigantic group of Santas surfing the waves – but if you’re in Cocoa Beach on Christmas Eve, you’ll find 300 Santas on surfboards for the annual Surfing Santas event. While we weren’t in town for the main event, we may have marked our calendars for next year.
Since we missed Santa this year, we decided to head to a local favorite – Grills Seafood Deck & Tiki Bar right on the water in Melbourne. Luckily for us, it was Taco Tuesday! We filled up on tacos but still had room for more, so we headed down the street to Del’s Freez, a famous soft-serve ice cream stand in Melbourne that’s been serving for more than 59 years!
That wrapped up our travels this week. As we wind down for the year, we’ve loved getting the travel the country launching Shipt in new cities each week. 2016 will be no different, so let us know – where should we go next?
