Spring has sprung and it’s time to clean out your pantry! Don’t let your goods go to waste. You know, the oats, cereals, dried fruits, nuts and other odds and ends that have just been sitting there waiting for the perfect recipe. Instead of tossing, we’re going to show you how to turn them into a delicious batch of homemade granola snacks. Whether you prefer your granola chewy or crunchy, spicy or sweet, with these two recipes you can’t go wrong!

Homemade Granola Two Ways

Ingredients

Cinnamon Apple Granola

  • 1 cup apple chips
  • 1/2 cup pecans
  • 2 cups puffed cereal
  • 3/4 cup walnuts
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup coconut oil
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup apple sauce
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp apple pie spice
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Peanut Butter Granola Bars

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup

Directions

Cinnamon Apple Granola

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ingredients and mix well.
  2. Pour the granola mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake at 250ºF for 1 hour.
  3. Allow to cool for 15-20 minutes then enjoy as a snack or a bowl of cereal!

Peanut Butter Granola Bars

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ingredients and mix well.
  2. Pour the granola mixture in a square baking pan lined with parchment paper and bake at 350ºF for 25 minutes.
  3. Cut into six even bars and they’re ready to share!
