From the Shipt Kitchen: Coast to Coast Sandwiches

Deep fried or deep sea, how do you like your seafood sandwiches? We couldn’t decide on a favorite, so instead, we made both! From the northern coast of Maine, here is a quick and fresh lobster roll recipe you can serve up in minutes. If fried cuisine from The Big Easy is more your style, you’ll love this savory po’boy packed with delicious fried shrimp. Introduce a little southern charm or some northeast flair to your table – and make summer dinner a sea breeze

Coast to Coast Sandwiches


Southern Shrimp Po’ Boy

  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup cornmeal
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • Shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Vegetable oil
  • Remoulade sauce
  • Cabbage, chopped
  • Tomatoes, chopped
  • Butter
  • Sandwich rolls

Maine Lobster Rolls

  • 1/2 lb lobster meat
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup celery, chopped
  • Lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Cabbage, shredded
  • Sandwich rolls


Southern Shrimp Po’ Boy

  1. In a bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper. In a separate bowl, combine buttermilk and egg.
  2. Dip the shrimp into the egg and buttermilk mixture, then fully coat with the flour mixture.
  3. In a pan of vegetable oil, fry the shrimp on medium heat until golden brown.
  4. Spread butter on the inside of the sandwich rolls and fill evenly with cabbage, tomatoes, and homemade fried shrimp.
  5. Top with remoulade sauce and enjoy!

Maine Lobster Rolls

  1. In a large bowl, combine lobster, mayonnaise, celery, lemon juice, salt and pepper, and mix well.
  2. Fill your sandwich roll with cabbage and lobster salad, and serve!
