Giving Thanks for Thanksgiving
This Thanksgiving we wanted to extend a huge heartfelt thank you to all our Shipt shoppers and members helping to make a difference in our communities, by not only the delicious food you deliver and make, but by the time and donations you’ve made to contributing to causes that matter to us the most.
Here’s a summary of some of the things the #ShiptFamily has been involved in this holiday season.
During our #Give1Get1 campaign in support of Feeding America’s Hunger Action Month, we committed to matching canned food item purchases from the Shipt app and donating the proceeds and canned goods to local Feeding America food banks. Thanks to all your canned food purchases, we collectively contributed approximately 165,000 meals to hungry families in the metros Shipt services. That is no small feat! Thanks to all those who helped contributed to this campaign.
2016 San Antonio Food Bank’s The Great Turkey Challenge 5K
On Thanksgiving Day, we’re participating in San Antonio Food Bank’s The Great Turkey Challenge 5K, the goal of which is to provide turkey dinners to families in need during the holiday season. Every $15 raised by the event provides a holiday meal for an entire family. If you participated in the event, please be sure to tweet and tag us in photos so we can spread the love!
Stars & Strikes Bowling Event
On November 28 we’re sponsoring pro football player Golden Tate‘s Golden Future Foundation’s Stars & Strikes bowling event in Novi, MI. Proceeds will go to Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency and Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America. To participate or join in on the event, please click here.
We are forever thankful to you – our Shipt shoppers and members – for helping hungry families and children get the food they need to live healthy, active lives and for continuing to serve those in need. And we are continually humbled by your efforts to make a difference in our communities.
