Next on Shipt’s list? The sweet Southern city of Savannah. We made our first foray into Georgia earlier this year when we launched grocery delivery in Atlanta. While we’ve loved bringing on-demand grocery delivery to the bustling metro, our team is ready to take up residence in a quaint Southern town like Savannah. You know we’re from sweet home Alabama, so we appreciate the Southern hospitality!
Our launch team took some time exploring some spots all over Savannah to get a feel for the city, and they let us know some of their favorite spots (so far).
We love the artistic vibes of City Market, a fantastic spot that combines the old charm of Savannah with new innovations, delicious food and eclectic shopping. We spent the afternoon strolling through City Market and enjoying a beautiful sunny afternoon while learning more about Savannah’s history.
Since on-demand grocery delivery makes your to-do list a little less scary, you have to find other ways to scare your boots off in your newfound free time. We heard that some of the ghost tours of downtown Savannah can be pretty creepy, so we spent a night checking out some of the spookiest sites in Savannah. Needless to say, we checked under the bed for monsters and ghosts before going to sleep that night…
It’s no secret that Shipt loves food (it’s why we got into grocery delivery), so we’ve been checking out some of the most delicious eats in Savannah. We stopped by Café M for lunch, and then headed just down the street for the most delicious ice cream from Leopold’s. After that, we had to get some work done, so we headed over to the Coffee Fox, a great local coffee shop in a beautiful part of Savannah. The horchata latte is a must – trust us.
After a packed itinerary exploring (and falling in love with) Savannah, we’re having some trouble convincing our launch team to leave! They’ve got to head home soon though, because the month of December is packed with on-demand grocery delivery launches in new cities. Stay tuned for where they go next!
